The problem of English language training for university teachers is addressed.
Different models of teaching a professional foreign language and specialized
subjects in a foreign language are discussed. The components and the
structure of the learning content are considered. The problems of the English
language training for teachers of specialized subjects were distinguished. The
ways of further development of ESP competence of the teaching staff of the
university were outlined.
