In this research analysis of the features of strategic planning was conducted and the key stages of the business development planning process were identified. Strategic planning has become indispensable for the long-term growth and sustainability of enterprises in modern, rapidly changing conditions. Successful strategic planning is formed taking into account the influence of external and internal factors, the potential and resources of the enterprise, innovations and opportunities for attracting or rationally renewal its own economic resources. Clarity of strategic goals leads to the effective organization of teamwork, structuring of business and obtaining the desired results of the financial and economic activities of the enterprise.
